Iris House Surf Therapy Session 6/6 – Cancelled

This is a unique 6 week Surf Therapy program for participants from Iris House Hospice.  On Friday afternoons when the tide is low; 5 very excited surfers with their dedicated support team from Iris House arrive and get ready to take on the waves. Each surfer has a specially adapted wetsuit to accommodate their needs; on the beach a team of volunteers who have juggled their work schedules wait patiently beside the adapted surf boards, life jackets and beach wheelchairs.  At 14h00 the lesson begins and dedicated teams take their surfer into the ocean. For some of the surfers this is the only time that they have been to the beach, touched the sand and felt the cold salty water -  it is 90 minutes of fun, exhilaration and proof that we all are and can do so much more with our minds and bodies.

If you are able to volunteer for these special sessions - whatsapp 0824060155
