7 March 2026 Surf Therapy and Beach Day

International Wheelchair Day (IWD) is a global awareness day held every year in March. This year we will be partnering with International Society of Wheelchair Professionals and ShonaquipSE on Saturday 7th March 2026 to raises awareness of mobility rights and promote accessibility, inclusion and universal design.


Date: Saturday, 7 March 2026
Location: Muizenberg Beach
Day’s Schedule: Surf Therapy & Mobility & Water Immersion. Wheelchair repairs services will be available. Come and get your wheelchair repaired or serviced for free while you enjoy the day at the beach, and spread the word to anyone else who would like to get their wheelchair serviced by a wheelchair technician.
Time: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Schedule:
- 7:30am-8:00am Registration
- 8:00am – 9:00am Training
- 9:00am–1:00pm Surf Therapy
- 1:30pm – 2:00pm Pack down
The Surf Therapy clinics are designed for:
- Anyone who has a permanent or temporary disability
- Community members who would like to volunteer their time
